The 75th anniversary of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town was celebrated by the Theater at Monmouth in the summer of 2014. My sound design for the straightforward production was heavy on effects and atmospherics, helping to set the scene when the scenery itself was very spare. Rain, thunder, cicadas, crickets, bells, whistles, a rooster, some Mendelssohn, and of course the backing for all of the chorus scenes helped tie the show together. Here are some samples!

In addition to the recorded effects and music I had several cues done live, such as the cow’s hooves on the street and the lawn mower. The actors handled this admirably.
